I Love Cupcakes!

Why? Because they taste delicious, they look cute and they make your nails look super pretty!

I saw a bunch of pictures on instagram. So I thought I should try painting at least one cupcake on my nails. I wanted to make it super girly so I used pinks, and added some glitter to the frosting. It kinda looks like candy sprinkles. I didn't have any red for the cherry on top so I used a darker pink nail polish. I think I did a nice job. Next time I'm going to paint different color cupcakes on each nail.

But to be honest I much rather have the real thing! You can click here to check out this Super yummy, Vanilla or Funfetti Cupcakes Recipe.

Back to the nails...

The polishes I used are...
Color Club in He Loves Me. Which I received in my March Birchbox. (b.t.w loving this color!) Used as a all over base color.
L.A Colors Art Deco in Intense Pink. Stripes on top of He Loves Me.
Sinful Colors in Snow Me White (as cupcake frosting) & Pearl Harbor (sprinkles)

As always base and top coat, Seche Vite. I'm running low on Seche Vite top coat so need a buy a new one soon.

What's your favorite type of cupcake? Mines is Vanilla (any type will do!)

BIRCHBOX ~ April

Finally my Birchbox comes in! I felt like I was waiting forever for this box to get shipped out to me. Any who I'm excited about all the Natural Wonders of this month's Birchbox. That's the theme for this month, Natural Wonder's. There's a bunch of skincare items in this box, which I'm happy to try out, and Wonderstruck scent.

April Birchbox
Befine - Skincare Sampler, Exfoliator and Moisturizer
J.R. Watkins - Foot Repair Salve
Pangea Organics - Lip Balm
Wonderstruck Taylor Swift

*Beauty Extras*
Pangea Organics - Facial Scrub
Pangea Organics - Eye Cream

Befine - Skincare Smaplers
I received three exfoliators and two moisturizers. It's states Befine uses gentle ingredients, which is awesome since my skin tends to get sensitive. Can't wait to give these a try!

I've tried out Pangea Organics Lip Balm. It's pretty moisturizing and smells really good, plus it's gluten-free!

J.R. Watkins Foot Repair Salve came just in time too. Weather is getting so lovely out, so I'm breaking out the sandals. I'm going to try this out tonight. Directions say to smooth on feet before bed and cover with socks, allowing the salve to penetrate overnight.

I think I have loads of perfume samples from Birchbox...lol I'm happy about receiving some more but I'm hoping next month is perfume free...lol I'm not really a perfume lover. I have a few that are really good and lite. Not overly strong. But I have to say I'm loving Wonderstruck Taylor Swift. Smells nicely fruity.

As beauty extras:
Pangea Organics facial scrub and eye cream. Scrub uses finely ground adzuki bean and cranberry seed enyzmes to clear away dead skin. The eye cream has rose oil and white tea extracts to give your eye area extra protection.

Over all pretty happy with this month's and can't wait to see what's in store for May!

Are you guys happy with this month's Birchbox? Did anyone not get a Zoya nail polish? (I was hoping for one...)

Cute & Simple Easter Nails

Happy Easter Everyone!

Here's a cute and easy Easter nail art. Just using random matte, bright colors and topping each nail with white polka dots!

What I really wanted to do was paint a white bunny on one of my nails but I didn't have time, so I did just the quick polka dots. Which came out super cute! My thumb is the same color as my pinky finger. As a dotting tool I used a bobby pin.

Here are the colors I used:

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Unicorn

Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish in I Need a Refresh-Mint

Love & Beauty Nail Polish in Nude (From Forever 21)

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Soul Mate

Just got done baking a Carrot Cake for Easter. I will update everything on the food blog tomorrow. Now time to relax!

So how are you spending your Easter Sunday?

Zoya Nail Polish in Megan

Where have my NOTW been? Well I really haven't been using any nail polishes lately. The reason being is because a few of my nails broke. I have a bit of OCD, so when one nail breaks I have to trim them all even. I was waiting for them to grow a out a little because I don't like applying nail polish to short nails. It takes some time for my nails to grow long. Does anyone know of a way to grow them out faster, and keep them stronger?

Since Spring is here and Easter is a few days away, I thought this would be a really cute color. I received this Zoya Nail Lacquer in my January Birchbox. The color is in Megan. This is a creamy, milky color that goes on smooth and pigmented. The color is a taupe gray with a bit of lavender. I don't have a color quit like this, so I'm glad I received a sample size, which will go a long way!

As base and top coat I used Seche Vite. Applied two coats of Megan.

This is my second Zoya Nail Polish that I received form Birchbox. The first is in my July Birchbox. The color is in Shay.

Has anyone every tried Zoya Nail Polishes before?

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream

I've be eying this Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream for a while now. Saw that it was on sale at CVS, so picked it up. I've never tried a B.B. Creams before so this would be my first time using one.

To get started let me tell you my skin type. I have combination skin, which gets oily on my forehead, nose and chin. I also get dry patches on my cheeks, around my nose and chin. Almost every thing I try seems to not help out my combination skin type. That's why I'm always looking for something new that will have lasting power. So I decided to give this a try.

If your not familiar with B.B. Creams, they originally formulated in Germany and then sold mainly in East and Southeast Asia. B.B. Creams provided a solution to a common skin problems. (from wiki)

What the product claims:

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream

Problem: Skin concerns, such as discoloration, dullness, blotchiness and dryness can come from a number of different sources. It's hard to find just one product that addresses all these concerns at once.

Solution: Garnier introduces Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector that immediately and effectively fulfills your skincare expectations.
Save time with just one multi-benefit product that combines advanced skincare + immediate skin perfecting coverage.

Results: Instantly: Skin naturally more even, radiant and smooth.

93% saw a more healthy glow

Garnier claims it's a all-in-one product with instant results. Skin appears airbrushed, beautifully smooth and even. Light weight and comfortable texture blends perfectly into skin for a sheer flawless finish. Contains Vitamin C + Mineral Pigments for an instant skin transformation:
~Renews radiance
~Brightens complexion
~Evens skin tone and blurs imperfections
~Hydrates for 24-hours
~Protects with SPF 15 UVA/UVB sunscreen against harmful effects of the sun

Formulation Facts:
Dermatologist tested for safety
Non comedogenic - won't clog pores
Gentle to skin
Non-greasy

From my experience I really believe in what this product claims. It' very moisturizing and goes on smoothly. Stays put all day and evens out my skin tone. The coverage is light-medium, which you can build up. I usually just use some concealer to cover up blemishes. Since I do have combination skin my cheeks, nose, chin and forehead gets oily so I do use a matte powder around these areas. I still use a moisturizer prior to this. It comes in two shade Light/Medium (which is the one I have) and Medium/Dark. Light/Medium seems to blend well with my skin tone. Also very hydrating.

Swatch on the back of my hand. I did a heavy swatch so you can see how well this B.B. Cream blends and also how it's leaves you with a healthy glow.

Here's my before and after pictures!

Before

After

As you can see my skin tone has even out, redness in my cheeks covered up pretty well. Also loving the shade, it almost looks like I have a slight tan. The before picture was taken a few days later. So that's why my shirt and hair is different. In the after I'm just wearing the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream. No concealer. A little goes a long way. I applied this B.B. Cream with clean fingers.

Over all I'm happy with the after! As you can see it blends really well with my light skin tone, and it's pretty hydrating on the skin. I say give this try! Great for normal to dry and combination skin. I would say if you have oily skin to use very little. You don't need much and powder up your oily zones.

What B.B Creams are you certainly using?
